Welcome to Memorial

Originally an area independent from the city of Houston, Memorial began as country estates and farmland. As Houston began to grow in the 1960s, many of today’s most sought-after neighborhoods began to develop throughout the area including Nottingham Forest, Memorial Bend, and eventually what are known as the Memorial Villages. Many of Memorial’s neighborhoods straddle or lie along Buffalo Bayou, creating some of the most beautifully forested properties in the country. Some of Houston’s best residential architecture can be found in the area, particularly mid-century modern homes built by internationally famous architects including Mies van der Rohe.

Residents of Memorial are proud of living around some of the best public and private schools in Houston, naturally attracting families and boasting generations of long-time residents. Along with a variety of home styles, sizes, and values, Memorial encompasses multiple mixed-use districts that are home to hospitals, hotels, restaurants, and many of Houston’s largest employers. We look forward to guiding you through the many lifestyle options available in this stunning section of Houston.
